The North Avenue Market is a sprawling, historic and culturally important landmark in Station North, an area in the very heart of Baltimore. Its redevelopment is viewed as essential to the revitalization of Station North, which took a step backwards because of the COVID pandemic’s impact on commercial businesses. This project is happening in close collaboration with community members, local non-profits, designers and developers who are committed to working together as a non-hierarchical team in reimagining the property’s diverse spaces. The aim is for this revitalized location to become a widely recognized art-centric experience made up of industries that drive culture, creativity, and economics.

We’re committed to serving the community’s health and historic cultural identity through neighborhood revitalization and historic preservation, creating spaces and support for local makers and artists, small-scale manufacturing operations, and developing spaces and programming to provide new and needed community services that will uplift the entire community:

  • The redevelopment of North Avenue Market is centered around Station North’s identity as an arts and entertainment district.

  • The storefronts along North Avenue (as well as one on Maryland Avenue) will be occupied by local retailers, makers, and food and beverage operators.

  • The former duckpin bowling alley on the second floor will be an entertainment venue that will bring bowling back to this historic building as well as provide space for live music, dancing, and a bar.

  • The former market hall in the north half of the building will become a major arts exhibition space and events venue that includes artist workspace and shared amenities on the mezzanine.

  • Finally, the basement will include artist workspaces, dance and music rehearsal space, and storage for retailers and restaurants.
